Job summary

Randstad is seeking a Controls Technician in Lawrence, KS to support robotics and automation on 3rd shift. You will program ABB PickMaster and Fanuc robots, debug Allen-Bradley PLC logic, and optimize packaging lines in a food manufacturing setting.

You bring 5+ years with Allen-Bradley PLCs, 3+ years with ABB or Fanuc robotics, and a strong electrical/mechanical background. The role offers $40/hour base plus night differential, OT, and benefits starting Day 1, with occasional travel to sister

Qualifications

• 5+ years with Allen-Bradley PLCs
• 3+ years with ABB and/or Fanuc robotics (PickMaster a plus)
• 4+ years industrial electrical/mechanical background or apprenticeship
• Low-voltage signal tracing and industrial networking troubleshooting
• Willingness to travel ~30 mins to sister sites
• HS diploma required; Associate degree or trade certification preferred

Responsibilities

• Program, calibrate, and troubleshoot ABB (PickMaster) and Fanuc robotic systems.
• Debug and modify Allen-Bradley PLC logic, VFDs, ladder logic, and electrical relays.
• Maintain machine vision cameras, photo-eyes, proximity sensors, and signal loops.
• Support interfaces between automation hardware and plant IT networks.
• Coach technicians on controls diagnostics and develop asset repair plans.
• Spearhead maintenance and improvement of critical plant assets
