Job summary

Ideal Electric Company in Mansfield, OH, is seeking a Manufacturing Technician/Winder to perform winding, assembly, press operations, and related production tasks. The role reports to the Production Supervisor and requires reading schematics, quality control, and teamwork in a full-time setting.

Responsibilities include winding rotors and stators, insulating and connecting components, testing, and maintaining equipment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or certified equivalent.
• Minimum two years of experience working in a heavy manufacturing environment.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Analytical thinking, problem-solving capability, and exceptional attention to detail.
• Ability to read and understand prints, use logic, and troubleshoot problems.
• Teamwork approach with excellent communication skills.
• Experience operating various manufacturing equipment, forklifts, and overhead cranes is helpful.
• Experience with large motors, generators, and rotating equipment is helpful.

Responsibilities

• Wind and connect stators, armatures, and rotors from instructions and diagrams.
• Insulate, cold press, and/or heat coils as required.
• Install collectors or commutators and make proper connections.
• May install equalizers, wire or bar wind.
• Install heat detectors and repair faulty detectors as needed.
• Test for continuity, shorts, grounds, resistance, etc.
• Operate soldering equipment and power tools as required.
• Assemble bus bars, terminals, and related connections.
• Obtain parts and supplies necessary for the work.
