Job summary

Actalent seeks a Chemical Technician for the fast-paced quality control laboratory on the 3rd shift in South Plainfield, NJ. You will ensure ISO 9001 and GMP compliance while performing a range of chemical tests and maintaining quality records.

Responsibilities include leading safety meetings, reviewing tests, validating COAs, and coordinating with production to resolve material specs. Onsite, contract-to-hire with strong benefits.

Qualifications

• GMP guidelines are followed in all testing activities.
• Hands-on chemical testing in a laboratory environment.
• Knowledge of wet chemistry techniques and raw material testing.
• Ability to work the fixed 3rd shift from 10:00 p.m. to 6:30 a.m.
• Strong attention to data entry accuracy in QC databases.
• Identify errors and implement corrective actions in lab and production.

Responsibilities

• Lead safety topics and weekly safety meetings in the lab.
• Perform and review required tests to ensure ISO 9001/GMP compliance.
• Conduct various tests as needed in the laboratory.
• Monitor sample status and release results accurately in the QC system.
• Communicate issues to the appropriate manager and initiate improvements.
• Identify labeling or data errors and drive corrective actions.
• Enter new specifications into the quality management system and keep data current.
• Validate COAs and ensure correct specifications are in place.
• Coordinate specification requests when none exist to ensure proper testing.
• Oversee raw material inspection and timely release when compliant.
• Collaborate with blending/production to resolve raw material specs.
