Job summary

Alger Heights Senior Living Facility in Grand Rapids is seeking a Med Tech to provide compassionate care to residents. You will administer medications per physician orders, assist with daily living activities, and support a safe, clean environment.

This 3rd shift role offers on-site employment with opportunities for growth, orientation and training, and benefits including paid time off from day one and health coverage for full-time staff.

Qualifications

• Experience in medication administration and working with seniors.
• Pass a criminal background check.
• Minimum age 18.
• Reliable transportation.
• Availability to work every other weekend.
• Tapcheck pay option available.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with daily living activities such as transferring, bathing, dressing, toileting, and walking.
• Administer medications and injections to residents per physician orders.
• Maintain cleanliness of the environment including light housekeeping.
• Follow infection control and safety procedures.
• Respond to call lights and assess residents’ needs promptly.
• Document medications accurately and keep records up to date.
• Support other team members as needed.

3rd Shift

• Providing assistance to residents with daily living activities such as transferring in and out of bed, bathing, dressing, toileting, and walking
• Administering medications and injections to residents based on physicians’ orders recorded in medical charts
• Ensuring the cleanliness of the environment which may involve light housekeeping duties
• Comply with all safety and health standards, including infection control procedures
• Monitoring for changes in residents’ conditions and promptly communicate any changes to the supervisor
• Following schedule, assisting residents with repositioning
• Adhering to procedures regarding documenting of medications accurately
• Utilize good judgment in providing client care and ensuring their safety
• Assisting other team members with their duties as necessary
• Responding to call lights and assess residents’ needs promptly
• Obtain meal trays and assist with eating
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor
