Job summary

Prysmian in North Carolina is seeking a 304 Cabler Operator to operate the cabler, strand conductors and form cable cores.

You will set up the cabler, adjust dies, apply fillers, and load/unload while maintaining precision to 1/10,000 inch and following process instructions.

This role requires color perception, good physical condition, dexterity, and familiarity with barcode guns and computers to ensure accurate data tagging and quality throughout production.

Qualifications

• Color perception and manual dexterity required.
• Ability to read simple math problems.
• Proficiency with barcode guns and computer systems.

Responsibilities

• Operates cabler to strand conductors, forming cable cores.
• Applies fillers at interstices, binds core with binders.
• Sets up cabler, changes lay gears, loads and unloads, changes dies as necessary.
• Ensure that the correct SAP/ERP transactions are executed for accurate consumption of materials and for maintaining a smooth process flow.
• Fills out required reports and monitors quality throughout process.
• Teamwork is necessary to change cabler over in the most efficient way.
• Must properly tag all products with accurate data.
• Effectively uses all products while minimizing scrap.
• Maintains proper housekeeping to ensure a safe working environment.
• Precision required in measuring, monitoring and maintaining core or unit O.D.’s. Work with tolerances to 1/10,000 inch.
