Job summary

Dover Food Retail (DFR) in Keosauqua, IA is hiring for a Kitting Associate. This onsite role supports production by reading orders, coordinating delivery and assembly of supplies, and moving totes and parts efficiently.

You will work across stations, maintain safety standards, and ensure accurate paperwork while collaborating with supervisors. Ideal candidates read blueprints, operate handheld tools, and communicate clearly.

Qualifications

  • Read and comprehend a job order and bill of materials.
  • Arrange for delivery, assembly, or distribution of supplies to meet production schedules.
  • Move totes to tables, verify parts, and move parts to shelves.
  • Confers with supervisors to assess progress and discuss changes.
  • Identify maintenance needs on equipment and tooling.
  • Demonstrated ability to read blueprints and schematic drawings.
  • Proficient with handheld tools and measuring devices.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret job orders and BOMs to guide workflow.
  • Coordinate delivery and assembly of parts to meet schedules.
  • Move totes and parts, ensuring accuracy and paperwork copies.
  • Consult with supervisors on progress and changes needed.
  • Identify and report equipment or tooling maintenance needs.
  • Work at multiple workstations as production requires.
  • Maintain clean, safe, and orderly work area.
  • Adhere to safety gear requirements for each operation.

What we are looking for:

Kitting is responsible for coordinating and expediting the flow of work and materials within or between departments according to production schedules.

What you'll be responsible for in this role:
  • Read and comprehend a job order and bill of materials
  • Arrange for delivery, assembly, or distribution of supplies or parts to expedite flow of materials to meet production schedules
  • Move totes to tables, checking to ensure all parts are complete, moving parts to shelves, and making copies of paperwork
  • Confers with department supervisors or other personnel to assess progress and discuss needed changes
  • Identify maintenance needed on equipment and tooling
  • Work at different workstations as production needs require
  • Maintain the work area in a clean, safe, and orderly manner
  • Use proper safety equipment and apparel required for each operation on individual's product line or work cell
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Physical Demands:
  • Occasionally – Stooping/Twisting, Kneeling, Squatting, Visual Acuity (Near/Far), and Lift/Carry up to 50lbs

  • Constantly – Standing, Walking, Gripping, Pushing/Pulling, and Lift/Carry up to 25lbs

*Occasionally – Occurs up to 1/3 of the time
