Job summary

Pratt & Whitney Holt, MI is seeking an aerospace inspector to visually and dimensionally verify components and to communicate findings to the quality team. You will interpret blueprints and inspection documents, use calipers and micrometers, and determine scope of work for OEM and aftermarket parts.

Applicants should hold a HS diploma or GED and have experience in production manufacturing; aerospace or A&P background is strongly preferred, with FAA data knowledge and GD&T familiarity

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED required.
• Experience in a production manufacturing environment preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical data preferred.
• Aerospace mechanic or A&P experience strongly preferred.
• FAA technical data knowledge preferred.
• Knowledge of GD&T preferred.

Responsibilities

• Visually and dimensionally inspecting aerospace components.
• Communicate inspection findings to management or quality engineering personnel.
• Determine the scope of work and inspect aftermarket and OEM parts.
• Interpret blueprints, visual specifications, coating specs and other inspection documents.
• Use calipers, micrometers and other testing equipment.
• Relate inspection findings to blueprint and specification requirements.
• Be a self-starter with integrity and professionalism.
• Demonstrate teamwork and willingness to learn new tasks.
• Maintain good written and verbal communication skills.
• Possess basic computer skills.
• Work varying shifts, including 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and weekends as needed.
