Job summary

International Paper is seeking a 3rd shift Assistant Operator in Griffin, GA. The role involves operating the load former, forming units quickly, and ensuring quality through inspections.

You will read work orders and identify stock to meet customer requirements, while maintaining safety and housekeeping standards. Typical duties include using measurement tools, assisting colleagues, and handling nonconforming products.

Responsibilities

• Following all safety rules and practices.
• Operation of load former and understands all different stacking patterns.
• Able to identify and use approved dunnage.
• Forming finished units at a fast pace.
• Conduct quality inspections.
• Responsible for producing quality boxes.
• Reading factory work orders, print cards, and other documentation to learn customer requirements.
• Identifying stock and products that correspond to work orders.
• Performing assigned duties to insure that production needs are met.
• Assisting other employees as needed.
• Accurately using tape measures and other measurement and test equipment.
• Inspecting, counting, stacking, and unitizing products according to customer specifications.
• Identifying and segregating nonconforming (reject) products and materials.
• Maintaining work areas to plant standards of housekeeping and machine cleanness.
• Maintaining teamwork with machine crews and other employees.
• Performing all other duties as needed assigned by the supervisor.
