Job summary

North Miami Community Schools is seeking a qualified third grade teacher to cover a maternity leave. The teacher will provide instruction in core subjects, follow established lesson plans, and support student progress during the absence.

Responsibilities include creating a safe, organized classroom and maintaining accurate grades and records. The position runs approximately January 4 through March 15, with dates and additional duties discussed with qualified applicants.

Qualifications

• Classroom teaching experience preferred.
• Ability to create a positive, supportive, and engaging learning environment.
• Willingness to follow established curriculum, lesson plans, procedures, and classroom expectations.
• Must meet all employment requirements of North Miami Community Schools.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily instruction in third-grade subject areas using lesson plans and resources provided by the classroom teacher.
• Maintain a safe, organized, and positive classroom learning environment.
• Assess student learning, provide feedback, and maintain accurate student grades and records.
• Manage student behavior in accordance with North Miami Community Schools’ expectations and policies.
• Communicate with students, families, staff, and administration as needed.
• Provide appropriate supervision during classroom instruction, transitions, and activities.
• Follow all school policies, procedures, and safety guidelines.
• Maintain continuity of instruction and classroom expectations during the maternity leave.
• Perform other duties normally associated with the teaching assignment as directed by building administration.
