Job summary

Grand Ridge Grade School is seeking a dedicated Fourth-Grade Long-Term Substitute Teacher to cover an anticipated planned maternity leave. The successful candidate will assume all duties of the regular classroom teacher, including instructional delivery, classroom management, and communication with students, parents, and staff.

Qualifications

• Valid Illinois teaching certificate/license

The successful candidate will be responsible for assuming all duties of the regular classroom teacher, including instructional delivery, classroom management, and communication with students, parents, and staff. This role requires a professional, organized, and proactive individual who can create and maintain a positive and effective learning environment for fourth-grade students.

Qualifications

Substitute Teacher Credentials

Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field from an accredited college or university.

Valid teaching certification/license for the state of Illinois.

Experience teaching at the elementary level.

Knowledge of curriculum and instructional best practices.

Excellent classroom management skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students.

Exceptional communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

Ability to adapt to an existing classroom environment and a new school culture.

Salary/Benefits

Per diem rate based on collective bargaining agreement

Additional Notes

Anticipated to begin on or around October 30th 2026 and anticipated ending date in early February. Individual will be asked to come shadow the regular teacher at least a week before anticipated beginning date of leave.
