Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university.
• Valid Texas teaching certificate with endorsements or required training for the subject and level assigned.
• Demonstrated competency in the core academic subject area assigned.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement lesson plans that fulfill district curriculum and show written evidence of preparation.
• Prepare lessons with accommodations for differences in student learning styles.
• Present subject matter according to TEA guidelines and school policies.
• Plan and use instructional strategies and materials suited to students’ learning needs.
• Assess student learning and use results to plan instruction.
• Collaborate with special education teachers to modify curricula per IEPs.
• Determine instructional goals and methods with staff to meet district requirements.
• Supervise teacher aides and volunteers on assignments.
• Utilize technology to strengthen teaching and learning.
• Help students improve study methods and habits.
• Conduct ongoing assessment of student achievement through tests.
• Lead extracurricular activities as assigned by campus principal.
