Job summary

Acquire4Hire is seeking an experienced 3K Teacher for the Clemson Child Development Center, a non-profit childcare facility in Clemson, South Carolina. Qualifications

Overview

Clemson Child Development Center, a non‑profit childcare facility with an A+ ABC Quality Rating, is seeking an experienced 3K Teacher to provide a safe and nurturing environment for children ages 3‑4. The teacher will support the development of young children’s social, emotional, physical, creative, and cognitive skills while working closely with a team of educators. The role is highly active, mobile, and requires professionalism, teamwork, and a solutions‑oriented perspective.

Responsibilities
  • Follow all CCDC employee and parent policies, seeking clarification or support from the Director when needed.
  • Substitute in classrooms and provide breaks for teachers as assigned by the Program Director/Executive Director.
  • Complete and maintain student attendance, meal records, ABC ratios, and DSS tracking sheets.
  • Utilize iCare via iPad to communicate daily activities, photos, and progress updates to parents.
  • Use CCDC Outlook email and Slack to communicate with administrators and team members.
  • Remain actively mobile and engaged in all locations and settings.
  • Follow classroom schedules, expectations, and lesson plans, implementing age‑appropriate curriculum such as The Creative Curriculum, Conscious Discipline, SCPITC, and Handwriting Without Tears.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to promote a healthy system and support the CCDC School Family.
  • Participate in meal service, guide student behavior in the cafeteria or classroom, and supervise cleanup.
  • Supervise outdoor learning spaces, monitor safety, and assist children with social interactions using Conscious Discipline principles.
  • Assist fellow staff with laundry processing as needed.
  • Ensure classroom supplies are adequate for daily operations.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the classroom, screened‑in porch, and outdoor learning spaces, encouraging children to care for equipment and materials.
  • Follow opening and closing procedures as required.
  • Attend scheduled staff meetings, required training, and teacher workdays.
  • Attend all mandatory trainings for Conscious Discipline, Creative Curriculum, SCPITC, and Handwriting Without Tears as assigned.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 6 months experience in a licensed child‑care facility.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must have a high school diploma or GED.
  • Must be able to work in an active and highly mobile position.
  • Must be able to take instructions from supervisor, program director, and/or executive director.
  • Must clear a full background check per SC DSS requirements.
  • Must pass health screening per SC DSS requirements.
  • Must be able to sit on the floor with children and get up quickly.
  • Must be able to lift babies in and out of cribs.
  • Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in early childhood development or education.
  • 2–3 years of experience in a licensed child‑care facility.
  • Pediatric CPR and First Aid certification.
  • Experience with The Creative Curriculum for Infants & Toddlers/Preschool, SCPITC, Conscious Discipline, and Handwriting Without Tears.
  • Experience working in a play‑based environment.
