Baptist Health's 3G & H telemetry/medical surgical unit in Kentucky is seeking a Nursing Assistant for full-time night shift. The role provides direct patient care under RN supervision, including hygiene, mobility, and positioning, and supports routine clinical tasks in a 37-bed unit.

Candidates must have a high school diploma or GED, Kentucky Nurse Aide Certification (or be in the first year of nursing with clinical rotation), and Basic Life Support.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• KY Nurse Aide certification or completion of first year of nursing with clinical rotation.
• Basic Life Support certification required or obtained within 30 days of hire.

Responsabilités

• Provide direct patient care: hygiene, mobility, toileting, feeding, positioning.
• Obtain and document vital signs, intake/output, weights, specimens.
• Perform delegated procedures: blood glucose monitoring, EKGs, venipuncture.
• Assist with admissions, transfers, and discharges.
• Perform clerical/unit coordination duties and chart checks.
• Maintain supplies, equipment and a safe care environment; respond to emergencies.

Summary Job Description

Nursing Assistant Full-Time, Night Shift 3G & H 3G/H is a 37-bed telemetry/medical surgical unit specializing in but not limited to orthopedic/neuro/spine patients. The unit serves as a secondary stroke unit as well as general cardiac/telemetry patients. The patients are transferred from PACU, ED, interventional areas, and direct admissions from MD offices.Under the direction of a Registered Nurse (RN) or other licensed care team member, Nursing Assistant provides direct patient care and related support by performing selected nursing procedures and routine duties to assist medical and nursing personnel in the examination, treatment, and care of patients.

Job Description

Provides direct patient care, including hygiene, mobility, toileting, feeding, and positioning. Obtains and documents vital signs, intake/output, weights, specimens, and other patient data. Performs delegated clinical procedures such as blood glucose monitoring, EKGs, and venipuncture. Assists with patient admissions, transfers, discharges, and procedures. Performs clerical and unit coordination duties, including patient charts and physician orders. Maintain supplies, equipment, and a safe patient care environment. Responds to patient needs and emergency situations while providing compassionate, respectful care.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent (GED) Current KY Nurse Aide Certification, or successful completions of first year of Nursing program with validation of clinical rotation Basic Life Support- Applicants will have 30 days from their hired date to provide completion of this certification if they don’t have it already.
