Baptist Health is seeking a Nursing Assistant for a full-time, first-shift position in a 37-bed telemetry/medical-surgical unit (3G & H). You will provide direct patient care and support under RN supervision, handling hygiene, mobility, vital signs, and routine duties to assist in patient examination, treatment, and care.

The role involves chart/documentation duties, patient admissions/discharges, and coordinating unit activities while maintaining a safe and compassionate environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Current KY Nurse Aide Certification or completion of first year of Nursing program with clinical rotation validation.
• Basic Life Support certification required within 30 days of hire if not already possessed.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care including hygiene, mobility, toileting, feeding, and positioning.
• Obtain and document vital signs, intake/output, weights, specimens, and other patient data.
• Perform delegated clinical procedures such as blood glucose monitoring, EKGs, and venipuncture.
• Assist with patient admissions, transfers, discharges, and procedures.
• Perform clerical and unit coordination duties including patient charts and physician orders.
• Maintain supplies, equipment, and a safe patient care environment.
• Respond to patient needs and emergencies with compassionate, respectful care.

3G & H

3G/H is a 37-bed telemetry/medical surgical unit specializing in but not limited to orthopedic/neuro/spine patients. The unit serves as a secondary stroke unit as well as general cardiac/telemetry patients. The patients are transferred from PACU, ED, interventional areas, and direct admissions from MD offices.

Under the direction of a Registered Nurse (RN) or other licensed care team member, Nursing Assistant provides direct patient care and related support by performing selected nursing procedures and routine duties to assist medical and nursing personnel in the examination, treatment, and care of patients.

Job Description:
