Baptist Health in Lexington, KY is seeking a Nursing Assistant for a full-time, first-shift position on the 3G & H telemetry/medical­surgical unit. You will provide essential direct patient care under RN supervision, perform selected nursing duties, and support admissions, transfers, and discharges.

Responsibilities include documenting vitals, assisting with daily activities, and performing procedures like glucose monitoring, EKGs, and venipuncture.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Current KY Nurse Aide Certification required or completion of first year of Nursing program with clinical validation.
• BLS certification required within 30 days of hire if not already obtained.

3G & H

3G/H is a 37-bed telemetry/medical surgical unit specializing in but not limited to orthopedic/neuro/spine patients. The unit serves as a secondary stroke unit as well as general cardiac/telemetry patients. The patients are transferred from PACU, ED, interventional areas, and direct admissions from MD offices.

Under the direction of a Registered Nurse (RN) or other licensed care team member, Nursing Assistant provides direct patient care and related support by performing selected nursing procedures and routine duties to assist medical and nursing personnel in the examination, treatment, and care of patients.

Job Description:

• Provides direct patient care, including hygiene, mobility, toileting, feeding, and positioning.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED)

• Current KY Nurse Aide Certification, or successful completions of first year of Nursing program with validation of clinical rotation

• Basic Life Support- Applicants will have 30 days from their hired date to provide completion of this certification if they don't have it already.
