Job summary

ENERCON's Data Center Mission Critical Group seeks a 3D Structural Designer to join our team in one of our U.S. office locations.

You will draft and refine detailed drawings, perform site walkdowns, and collaborate closely with engineers using REVIT, AutoCAD, NAVISWORKS, ACC/BIM 360, and Dynamo. You will mentor junior designers, ensure safety and quality, and coordinate with multiple disciplines on BIM-enabled projects.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in related field with a minimum of 1 year of design engineering experience OR Associate's Degree with minimum 6 years of design engineering experience OR minimum of 8 years of experience.
Proficient with both 2D and 3D design software.
Required Software/Platform Experience: REVIT, AutoCAD, NAVISWORKS, Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC/BIM 360), and Dynamo.
Preferred Software Experience: Tekla, Advance Steel, Inventor.
Experience with structural concrete and steel modeling.
Experience in the creation and maintenance of Revit families.
Experience producing structural construction documents and design deliverables.
Experience with clash detection, model review, and coordination workflows.
BIM coordination experience in multidisciplinary project environments.
Knowledge of IFC/openBIM workflows and industry BIM standards.
Experience collaborating with structural, architectural, mechanical, electrical, and other project disciplines in a BIM environment.
Working knowledge of basic engineering techniques, principals, standards, and concepts for assigned engineering discipline; competent in the basic concepts of other disciplines as they relate to the assigned discipline.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Knowledge of codes, standards, criteria, and design execution pertinent to various aspects of design.
Autodesk Certified Professional (ACP) in Revit for Structural Design preferred.
Ability to travel between 10-15% of the time; duration of travel may vary depending on project and client needs.

Responsibilities

Design & Drafting: Create and/or modify detailed engineering drawings using Plant 3D; prepare design drawings, including layout/detail drawings, piping isometrics, single line drawings, P&ID, and pipe/conduit support drawings; detail piping/steel supports; perform clash detection with Advance Steel; create/modify Revit families.
Site Work & Reporting: Perform walkdowns at client sites and generate walkdown reports.
Quality Control & Review: Conduct self-checks and peer reviews to ensure accuracy and mentor junior designers.
Collaboration & Communication: Coordinate with engineers and other designers; maintain organized internal communications.
Compliance & Efficiency: Follow all procedures, safety policies, and client requirements; meet time goals for the discipline.
