Job summary

Ames Construction in Denver, CO is seeking a skilled Machine Control Modeler/Survey CAD Technician to build precise 3D models and manage CAD data for machine control and surveying on diverse civil projects.

Ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented and proficient with Trimble civil software including Siteworks and Earthworks, as well as Civil 3D. In-office role with occasional site travel; FAA 107 license preferred or obtainable within 12 months.

Qualifications

• Two years' experience with Trimble Business Center and civil software.
• Ability to read & interpret grading plans, road alignments, and site details from approved engineering plans.
• FAA 107 Remote Pilot License or ability to obtain within a year of employment.
• Capable of resolving a wide range of technical issues related to civil geospatial data.
• Must be very detail-oriented, self-motivated, and well organized.
• Previous field surveying experience preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Construct 3D machine control and site layout models for Trimble Siteworks/Earthworks.
• Perform earthwork takeoffs using data from various sources or survey methods.
• Provide support for field crews working with digital design data.
• Adhere to company CAD and drafting standards across all projects.
• Create as-builts and other drafting tasks as required by projects.
• Review and transform between CAD file formats.
