Job summary

KMEC Engineering and Conveying is seeking a Designer in Houston, TX, with Revit and/or Tekla experience to join our engineering team. Responsibilities include developing 3D models, creating GA, structural, mechanical, and fabrication drawings, and coordinating with vendors.

Travel to job sites for field measurements may be required. Preferred qualifications include a drafting/design technology certificate, 1+ year of 3D modeling experience, and proficiency with AutoCAD in addition to

Qualifications

• Certificate/degree in Drafting or Design Technology.
• Minimum 1 year of 3D modeling/design experience.
• Revit and/or Tekla experience strongly preferred.
• AutoCAD experience preferred.
• Experience with structural steel, conveyors, or bulk material handling is a plus.
• Familiarity with AISC, ASCE, ASME, CEMA, AWS, OSHA, and MSHA standards is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop 3D models using Revit and/or Tekla Structures for bulk material handling and industrial projects.
• Prepare General Arrangement (GA), structural, mechanical, and fabrication/detail drawings.
• Model conveyors, chutes, equipment, structural steel, platforms, stairs, and supporting structures based on engineering sketches and specifications.
• Review vendor drawings and equipment specifications to determine proper arrangement, mounting, access, and maintenance requirements.
• Coordinate models and identify potential interferences or constructability issues.
• Produce and revise drawings using AutoCAD, Revit, and/or Tekla.
• Occasionally travel to job sites to collect field measurements and design information.
