Job summary

KMEC Engineering and Conveying in Houston, TX, is seeking a Designer with Revit and/or Tekla experience to join our engineering team.

You will develop 3D models for bulk material handling projects, prepare GA, structural, mechanical, and fabrication drawings, and coordinate with vendors. Travel to job sites for field measurements is occasionally required.

The ideal candidate has at least 1 year of 3D modeling experience, knowledge of AutoCAD, and familiarity with industry standards (AISC/ASME).

Qualifications

Minimum 1 year of 3D modeling/design experience.
Strong 3D visualization and mechanical aptitude.
Ability to read engineering drawings, specifications, and vendor information.
Independent and team-oriented with good communication.

Responsibilities

Develop 3D models using Revit and/or Tekla Structures for bulk material handling and industrial projects.
Prepare GA, structural, mechanical, and fabrication drawings.
Model conveyors, chutes, equipment, structural steel, platforms, stairs, and supporting structures.
Review vendor drawings and equipment specifications for proper arrangement and maintenance.
Coordinate models and identify interferences or constructability issues.
Produce and revise drawings using AutoCAD, Revit, and Tekla.
Occasionally travel to job sites for field measurements.
