Custom Truck and Body Works, Inc. in Woodbury, Georgia seeks a skilled 3D Mechanical CAD Designer to modify ambulance and specialty vehicle designs, maintain accurate 3D models, and generate detailed manufacturing drawings using Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD.

The role requires collaboration with fabrication and production teams to ensure designs are manufacturable, update drawings for customer specs, and contribute to new product development and process improvements.

Formación

• 3+ years of experience in mechanical CAD design, drafting, or manufacturing design.
• Proficiency in Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD.
• Experience creating 3D assemblies and detailed manufacturing drawings.
• Understanding of sheet metal, aluminum fabrication, mechanical assemblies, and manufacturing processes.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and dimensional specifications.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work directly with manufacturing personnel to resolve design and production issues.

Responsabilidades

• Modify and update existing ambulance, fire/rescue, and specialty vehicle designs.
• Create and maintain detailed 2D and 3D models using Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD.
• Develop production-ready drawings for aluminum structures, vehicle bodies, compartments, cabinets, doors, and other fabricated components.
• Create detailed part drawings, assembly drawings, and bills of materials (BOMs).
• Update drawings to accommodate customer specifications, engineering changes, and production requirements.
• Work closely with fabrication, cabinet, assembly, and production teams to ensure designs are accurate and manufacturable.
• Coordinate with the CNC programmer to ensure drawings and design files are properly prepared for manufacturing.
• Maintain organized CAD libraries, standardized components, and drawing revision records.
• Assist in developing new vehicle components, layouts, and product improvements.
• Identify opportunities to improve manufacturing efficiency, material utilization, and design consistency.
