Job summary

Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center is seeking an Emergency Department Technician for the 3am-3pm shift. The role supports RN staff with basic patient care, monitoring, and mobility, ensuring comfort and safety in a fast-paced ED environment.

Responsibilities include cardiac monitoring, EKGs, bladder scans, and documentation, with a focus on infection control and patient-centered care under supervision. Requires High School diploma and CPR/BLS, EMT state credential, CNA or RN coursework.

Qualifications

• High School diploma required.
• BLS or CPR certification within 90 days of hire.
• CNA or RN first semester completion preferred.
• EMT certification by Illinois Dept of Public Health is required.

Responsibilities

• Operate cardiac monitor per policies and physician orders.
• Complete tasks with infection control standards.
• Document and report care under RN supervision.
• Maintain fall and skin risk precautions and patient-specific precautions.
• Assist with EKGs, finger-stick blood sugars, bladder scans, POC testing, splinting, and instrument prep/cleaning.
