Job summary

Power Engineering Services, a Quanta Services operating company, recruits experienced Medium Voltage Cable Splicers to support large data center infrastructure builds across West Texas. This hands-on role focuses on 5–35 kV MV cable work, following safety and customer specs.

You will join a disciplined commissioning and construction team, reading diagrams and ensuring proper terminations, phase IDs, and grounding, while adhering to PPE and NFPA 70E standards.

Qualifications

• Five+ years of experience installing, splicing, and terminating medium voltage cable (preferably 35 kV).
• Experience with cold shrink terminations and dead break or separable connectors.
• Experience with shielded EPR/XLPE medium voltage cable and shielded conductors.
• Ability to follow drawings, schedules, and manufacturer instructions.
• Strong safety record with reliable attendance.
• Willingness to travel and work overtime as needed.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, splice, and terminate 5–35 kV MV cable per specs and safety rules.
• Perform insulation prep, grounding, shielding, lug installation, and final terminations.
• Install outdoor terminations, indoor cold shrink terminations, and connectors.
• Read line diagrams, cable schedules, and termination details.
• Verify phase and conductor IDs, shielding continuity, and routing before energization.
• Support insulation resistance, continuity checks, and pre-commissioning tests.
