The Gay & Lesbian Community Center of Southern Nevada is seeking a 340B Specialist to support the implementation, maintenance, and monitoring of the 340B Program, ensuring compliance with HRSA guidelines and internal policies. This role also provides cross-trained medical billing support to maintain clinic revenue accuracy and operations continuity.

The position requires cultural competency to serve LGBTQIA++ communities and other marginalized populations.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience in medical billing or 340B program support.
  • Experience with both medical billing and 340B programs is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the daily operations of the 340B Program, ensuring program integrity and compliance with regulations.
  • Conduct audits of 340B claims to ensure eligibility and billing criteria.
  • Support reconciliation of drug utilization, billing records, and third-party data.
  • Communicate with contract pharmacies, vendors, and internal teams to resolve discrepancies.
  • Monitor 340B software and tracking tools, reporting issues to leadership.
  • Maintain documentation for audits, reviews, and HRSA readiness.
  • Support review of invoices, purchase orders, and inventory tracking for proper pricing.
  • Participate in monthly/quarterly audits and assist with corrective actions.

Job description

Position Overview

The 340B Specialist supports the implementation, maintenance, and monitoring of The Center’s 340B Program to ensure compliance with HRSA guidelines and organizational policies. This role works closely with the Director of 340B Strategy & Revenue Optimization and internal departments to perform claim audits, verify patient eligibility, maintain accurate documentation, and assist with contract pharmacy and wholesaler coordination.

In addition to 340B-related responsibilities, this position will be cross-trained in medical billing to provide support as needed, ensuring continuity of operations and contributing to overall clinic revenue accuracy.

This position demands a high level of cultural competency of the unique needs of the LGBTQIA++ community, communities of color, and other marginalized and/or vulnerable populations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the daily operations of the 340B Program, ensuring program integrity and compliance with federal, state, and internal regulations.
  • Conduct audits of 340B claims to ensure compliance with eligibility and billing criteria.
  • Support the reconciliation of drug utilization, billing records, and third-party administrator data.
  • Communicate with contract pharmacies, vendors, and internal teams to resolve discrepancies and maintain accurate program information.
  • Monitor 340B software and tracking tools, reporting any issues or inconsistencies to leadership.
  • Maintain documentation for audits, compliance reviews, and HRSA readiness.
  • Support the review of invoices, purchase orders, and inventory tracking to ensure proper 340B pricing and program utilization.
  • Participate in monthly and quarterly audits of the program and assist in implementing corrective actions as needed.
  • Assist with maintaining documentation of policies, procedures, and program updates.
  • Stay current with 340B program updates, including HRSA guidance and Apexus Best Practices.
  • Provide cross-coverage for medical billing functions, including claim entry, follow-up, and payment reconciliation, as assigned by the Director.
  • Collaborate with other financial team members to promote effective workflows and problem resolution.
  • Attend team meetings and training sessions as needed to support 340B and billing operations.
  • Uphold confidentiality and compliance standards at all times.

Minimum Qualifications

Educational / Licensure Requirements

  • Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in healthcare, finance, or a related field preferred
Licensure Requirements
  • Apexus 340B ACE Certification preferred or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire.
Physical Requirements
The ability to:
  • Remain seated and work at a computer for extended periods.
  • Use a computer, keyboard, mouse, and telephone regularly.
  • Communicate effectively in person, by telephone, and via video conferencing.
  • Occasionally stand, walk, bend, reach, and lift office materials.
  • Lift and carry items weighing up to 10-25 pounds occasionally.
  • Travel locally or overnight, if required by the position.

Starting Pay: $55,000 Annually
