Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health Plymouth is seeking a part-time Evening Nursing Support/Sitter to provide patient observation and safety within a hospital unit. You will follow the Nurse Manager and Registered Nurse directions, respond to call lights, stock supplies, transport patients, and document care while honoring cultural needs and interpreter services when needed.

• Completes Hospital approved de-escalation training during unit based orientation.

• Answers call lights and ensures patient care issues are directed to the Registered Nurse.
• Transports patients within the department and to in-hospital locations as needed.

Utilizes interpreter services for patients with limited English proficiency o Performs all duties in accordance with safety and other laws, rules and regulations as set forth by appropriate regulatory and governmental agencies and in accordance with established departmental and hospital policy and procedure.Education/Experience Required:High School diploma/GED/or enrolled and near completion of High School Health Sciences program.Registration/Certification:Basic Life Support current certification required within 3 months of hireCompletes Hospital approved de-escalation training during unit based orientation.Physical/Environmental RequirementsThis job requires frequent bending, carrying, pulling, pushing, reaching, standing, stooping, walking and lifting over 10 lbs. There will be occasional need for climbing stairs, lifting in excess of 50 – 100 lbs and sitting. Constant use of hearing, sight and speech. Frequent use of smell and touch. Frequent keyboard and telephone use. Constant concentration and problem solving.Pay Range:$17.69 – $28.22This position is covered by a collective bargaining agreement. The pay range listed for this position is the base hourly wage range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at this time. The pay range for this position is established and governed by the terms of the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
