Job summary

Hudsonville Public Schools is seeking a paraprofessional to support at-risk students and assist teaching staff with reinforcing learning and managing behavioral needs.

The role involves assisting with student assessments, tutoring, and coordinating weekly schedules with teachers to support student progress. Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED, with associates preferred and teaching certificates a plus.

Qualifications

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret communication including emails, letters, spreadsheet and forms.
  • Ability to calculate basic mathematical formulas; add and subtract totals; multiply and divide; determine percentages and decimals.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with individual student assessment at teacher's request.
  • Assist in small or large group student instruction under teacher direction.
  • Tutor students at teacher's request.
  • Work with assigned classroom teachers to set up a weekly schedule to assist students.
  • Communicate weekly with assigned classroom teachers on lesson plans and student progress.
  • Attend scheduled staff meetings during school hours; before and after school meetings are optional.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Summary:
