Overview

Pacific Clinics is providing Crisis Response Team services for Nevada County, including emergency crisis intervention services available 24/7, 365 days a year. Services include mobile crisis responses and emergency department visits. The Crisis Response Team de‑escalates behavioral health crises, including individuals who are acutely suicidal, homicidal, or gravely disabled, and stabilizes them to reduce the need for higher level care.

Schedule

Wed – Sat (8:00 AM – 6:00 PM)

Compensation
  • $96,384 – $118,540 annually, depending on experience, location, and internal equity considerations.
  • 8% License Differential for LMFT, LCSW, LPCC, PsyD, and select peer certifications.
  • 7.5% Bilingual Differential for qualified positions.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure effective coordination of services for individuals and families with internal and external providers, including local law enforcement.
  • Apply advanced skills in acquisition and application of clinically related information to intervene effectively during crises.
  • Act as a clinical consultant to ensure initiation of involuntary psychiatric holds complies with relevant laws.
  • Apply multi‑modal approaches and perspectives to therapeutic direction and crisis management.
  • Respond to community‑based mental health crises, including individuals presenting as a danger to self or others.
  • Participate in joint responses with local law enforcement to manage acute mental or behavioral health crises.
  • Monitor defined outcome achievement and satisfaction levels for all clients and referring agencies.
  • Provide coaching and mentoring in evidence‑based practices; lead problem‑solving interactions with external customers.
  • Ensure compliance with all policy and procedure requirements, including licensing, quality, IT, HR, and regulatory standards.
  • Maintain a 24/7 scheduling system to ensure coverage for crisis response; may cover shifts or parts of shifts as required.
  • Participate in Crisis Continuum on‑call manager rotation, including in‑person response.
  • Maintain audit‑ready charts and conduct independent chart audits.
  • Provide observations and feedback to supervisors to monitor and modify programs or approaches.
  • Conduct community and law‑enforcement‑based trainings as needed.
  • Ensure staff billable productivity and revenue‑related activities meet or exceed forecasts.
  • Actively participate in identifying team opportunities for improvement and developing strategies to address gaps.
  • Lead quality improvement activities and project implementation.
  • Ensure effective delivery of high‑quality clinical services for assigned individuals and families.
  • Provide effective crisis and risk prevention and management.
  • Be culturally responsive to internal and external customers and ensure client and family voice.
  • Provide direct services to individuals and families, supporting direct service staff to ensure smooth delivery.
  • Conduct outreach to the community, including education about agency services and resources.
  • Advocate for system change related to agency service delivery philosophy.
  • Manage day‑to‑day operations, utilizing all administrative electronic systems, human resources, and other resources.
  • Collaborate with managerial peers to develop and improve program delivery and adhere to fiscal requirements.
  • Perform any other related responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Master’s degree (M.A.) in Social Work or a closely related field and at least four years of clinical experience with children or adults, including crisis management experience; or equivalent education and experience.
  • Two years of supervised clinical experience with children or adults.
  • Strong leadership and crisis management skills.
  • Certification in crisis intervention techniques within the first 30 days and annually.
  • Certification in county service for LPS 5150 within 60 days of hire.
  • If required by program, ability to pass an initial physical abilities test (HPE) and maintain crisis intervention certification.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Licensed according to California state law (Welfare and Institutions Code section 5600.2).
  • Four to five years of clinical experience with children or adults.
  • Preferred crisis management experience.
  • Training in domestic violence, child and elder abuse, maintaining current knowledge of relevant laws.
  • Self‑defense training for harmful and violent physical situations.
  • Knowledge of local county rules and regulations from the Department of Social Services or related divisions.
  • Experience providing services to individuals with substance use disorders, co‑occurring disorders, or unhoused populations.
Highly Desirable Skills

Physical Requirements

Must remain physically fit to ensure self‑safety. Requires standing, walking, sitting, using hands to handle objects, reaching, climbing stairs, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, speaking, hearing, tasting, and smelling. Must move quickly/run, drive a vehicle, and perform movements up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities include close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and focus adjustment. This role also requires background checks and TB examinations. No unsupervised contact with children. A Human Performance Evaluation Test may be required for certain locations.
