Job summary

Saft America, Inc. in Maryland seeks a Production Supervisor to lead daily manufacturing operations for lithium-ion battery cell assembly used in custom, high-performance applications.

You will supervise ~20 production associates across three shifts and partner with cross-functional teams to ensure safety, quality, and on-time delivery. The role requires floor-level leadership, hands-on support on the shop floor about 75% of the time, adherence to AS9100 quality standards and lean manufacturing

Qualifications

• Must be a US citizen or 10 year green card holder.
• A four-year degree is required.
• BS in Engineering strongly preferred; other technical disciplines may be acceptable.
• 3+ years of leadership in manufacturing environments.
• Experience in high-reliability/manufacturing settings preferred.
• Strong organizational and communication skills; works well with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Manage production activities for approximately 20 associates across three shifts and coordinate weekend overtime as needed.
• Forecast work schedule to identify resource constraints in advance and manage them to meet the plan.
• Provide central communication within the shift and ensure robust cross-functional communications via PMR and hand-offs.
• Maintain a strong presence on the manufacturing floor and provide hands-on support when required.
• Serve as primary escalation point for shift-level operational issues.
• Promote safety culture and compliance with HSE requirements; lead investigations and corrective actions.
• Monitor production performance, labor utilization, yield, and equipment uptime.
• Coach and develop a team of ~20 associates; support hiring, onboarding, training, and performance management.
