Job summary

Mohawk Lifts LLC in Amsterdam, NY is seeking a Welder to join our team. You will weld products using fixtures, maintain a clean, safe workspace, and follow work instructions to ensure quality.

You will work with GMAW and FCAW processes, read tape measures, and perform pre-heat, fit-up, weld inspection and finishing. Training and overtime may be required; a valid AWS D1.1 pass is expected.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED required.
• Welding vocational training or 1+ year welding in manufacturing.
• Proficient in welding steel.
• Knowledge of GMAW and FCAW processes.
• Experience with pre-heat, weld fit-up, prep, inspection and finishing.
• Experience with overhead cranes.
• Able to read a tape measure and perform basic shop math.

Responsibilities

• Weld current and evolving fabricated products using fixtures.
• Lift and carry parts; load into jigs.
• Collaborate with Welding Supervisor to develop welding processes.
• Perform pre-heat, weld fit-up, preparation, inspection and finishing.
• Maintain clean, safe work area and follow safety rules.
• Operate oxy/acetylene torches or plasma cutters as trained.
• Pass welder qualification test per AWS D1.1.
