Job summary

Komatsu seeks skilled welders to produce chassis for electric mining trucks at our Peoria, IL facility. You will perform single and multi-pass welds using MIG, submerged arc, and related techniques, reading welding drawings and applying appropriate procedures.

Expect to work from blueprints, with crane-assisted material handling and a strong safety focus. Candidates must pass welding tests and a physical per DOL standards, with opportunities to grow in a large, global manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• 3 years welding experience with GMAW, GMAW-P and SAW.
• Ability to read weld drawings and procedures.
• Capability to weld in all positions and multi-pass welds.
• Safe use of grinders and general manufacturing tools.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate chassis components from blueprints and welding drawings.
• Weld, setup and weld follow-up per process requirements.
• Move plate steel with cranes and setup as required.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety of work area.
• May interface with Engineering and QA teams.
• Operate from engineering prints and routings with minimal supervision.
• Ensure quality and safety of own work and PPE usage.
