Job summary

ASTEC is seeking a Welder for the 2nd shift to safely assemble asphalt plant equipment and related components. The role requires skilled welding (GMAW/FCAW), reading weld symbols, and operating cranes/forklifts with attention to safety and quality. Applicants must pass a welding skills test and be able to work overtime as needed.

The position offers full-time hours with pay starting at $22.51 per hour, plus benefits including dental, health, and vision insurance. EOE.

Qualifications

• Ability to weld using GMAW and FCAW.
• Ability to read weld symbols on drawings.
• Ability to safely operate cranes and forklifts.
• Must be able to pass a welding skills test.
• Fit-up knowledge required.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Safely erects and fits together equipment for asphalt plant and related components.
• Welds using GMAW and FCAW with quality workmanship.
• Ensure welding machine settings are appropriate for work.
• Follow PPE requirements for welding and safety rules.
• Overtime, including weekends, may be required.
