Job summary

AKG North America is seeking a Welder on the 2nd shift in Mitchell, SD to weld tanks and other components to blueprint specifications. The role requires operating welding equipment, reading work orders and blueprints, and maintaining a safe, organized workspace.

The ideal candidate has formal welding training or apprenticeship and is able to stand for long periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and follow AKG’s EMS policies to ensure quality and safety across all tasks.

Qualifications

• Formal trade school program with a welding concentration, apprenticeship program or equivalent training.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and work orders.
• Experience with welding equipment and safe operation requirements.
• Commitment to maintaining a clean and safe work environment.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret detailed work orders and blueprints.
• Position core and tanks using fixtures and hoists, weld as required.
• Weld components to core and perform wash-down and finish steps.
• Document and stamp the cooler after welding is completed.
• Meet production quotas and follow EMS policies.
