Job summary

Daifuku Intralogistics America Corporation in Hobart, IN is seeking a 2nd Shift Welder. The role requires reading tape measures, welding, and performing precision joins on metal parts.

Position offers full-time hours, Monday–Friday, 2:00 PM–10:30 PM, with a comprehensive benefits package. AWS D1.1 certification and 1+ year welding experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; Certificate or Associate degree in welding.
• Minimum 3-5 years welding experience.
• AWS D1.1 Structural Welding Certification.

Responsibilities

• Operate welding machine and feed wire to bond materials.
• Read and interpret blueprints to plan welds.
• Determine welding position and metal type; select and set up equipment.
• Ensure welds meet standards and specifications.
• Adhere to Daifuku's QMS policies and continuous improvement requirements.

Responsibilities

Position Summary:

Welders join metal parts using high heat application to form permanent bonds.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Operating welding machine that feeds wire to bond materials
• Planning work by interpreting blueprints
• Determining welding position and type of metal to be fused
• Selecting and setting up welding equipment
• Ensuring welds meet standards and specifications
• Employees are responsible to comply with all requirements of Daifuku's QMS policies and procedures.
• Employees are to ensure sustainable process outputs that drive continuous improvement to provide leading industry performance and exceptional customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

Education and Experience Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; Certificate or Associate degree in welding
• Minimum 3-5 years experience in welding
• AWS D1.1 Structural Welding Certification

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Requirements:

• Good mechanical aptitude
• Ability to read blueprints
• Knowledge of hand tools and power tools
• Good communication skills
• Knowledge of quality assurance and self-inspection techniques
• Self-motivated and detail-oriented
• Team orientation
• Crane operation experience preferred, but not required
• Forklift operation experience preferred, but not required
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language

ADA Requirements:

• Medium work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
• Reaching: Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction.
• Standing: Remaining upright on the feet, particularly for sustained periods of time.

• Visual: The worker is required to have visual acuity to determine the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work assigned or to make general observations of facilities or structures.
• Job Conditions: The worker is subject to inside environmental conditions: Protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes.
• Job Conditions: The worker is subject to hazards: Includes a variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, working on scaffolding and high places, exposure to high heat or exposure to chemicals.
