Job summary

Daifuku is seeking a skilled welder for 2nd shift (Mon-Fri, 2:00 PM - 10:30 PM) in Hobart, Indiana. The role requires welding experience, ability to read blueprints, and adherence to quality standards.

You will operate welding equipment, interpret drawings, and ensure products meet specifications while supporting continuous improvement initiatives. A strong mechanical aptitude and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; welding certificate or degree is a plus.
• Experience in welding and ability to read blueprints is essential.
• Familiarity with quality assurance and self-inspection techniques.

Responsibilities

• Operate welding machine feeding wire to bond materials.
• Read and interpret blueprints to plan welds.
• Determine welding position and metal type to be fused.
• Set up welding equipment and adjust settings.
• Ensure welds meet standards and specifications.
• Adhere to Daifuku's QMS policies and strive for continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

Position Summary:

Welders join metal parts using high heat application to form permanent bonds.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Operating welding machine that feeds wire to bond materials
• Planning work by interpreting blueprints
• Determining welding position and type of metal to be fused
• Selecting and setting up welding equipment
• Ensuring welds meet standards and specifications
• Employees are responsible to comply with all requirements of Daifuku's QMS policies and procedures.
• Employees are to ensure sustainable process outputs that drive continuous improvement to provide leading industry performance and exceptional customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

Education and Experience Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; Certificate or Associate degree in welding
• Minimum 3-5 years experience in welding
• AWS D1.1 Structural Welding Certification

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Requirements:

• Good mechanical aptitude
• Ability to read blueprints
• Knowledge of hand tools and power tools
• Good communication skills
• Knowledge of quality assurance and self-inspection techniques
• Self-motivated and detail-oriented
• Team orientation
• Crane operation experience preferred, but not required
• Forklift operation experience preferred, but not required
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language

ADA Requirements:

• Medium work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of forcefrequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
• Reaching: Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction.
• Standing: Remaining upright on the feet, particularly for sustained periods of time.

• Visual: The worker is required to have visual acuity to determine the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughnessof the work assigned or to make general observations of facilities or structures.
• Job Conditions: The worker is subject to inside environmental conditions: Protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes.
