Job summary

JBS USA Inc. in Ottumwa, IA is seeking a 2nd Waste Water Technician to support daily wastewater operations. The role requires operating equipment, data collection, and basic lab tasks with a target to obtain an Iowa Grade 1 wastewater operator license within 18 months.

Flexibility to cover vacations and some holidays is expected. Applicants should have good communication, math skills, and the ability to work unsupervised.

POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT

POSITION: 2nd Waste Water Technician

DEPARTMENT:Waste Water

LOCATION:Ottumwa

SALARY CLASS:NonExempt

HOURS: 12:00 PM – Midnight (Saturday-Monday)

Responsibilities

• Working in wastewater area for daily operational adjustments, equipment operations andrecording data. Must be able to obtain an Iowa Grade 1 wastewater operator license within 18 months.
• Monitoring operating equipment & report any equipment problems.
• Recording equipment data.
• Help with lab testing
• Data entry of environmental data
• Operate sludge press
• General Housekeeping of Waste Water Plant area as is needed.
• Must be able to operate forklift as needed.
• Cover co-worker vacations as needed
• Work some holidays as needed (rotating with co-workers)

Qualification

• Good communication skills.
• Previous experience helpful, but not required.
