JBS Foods in Ottumwa, IA is seeking a 2nd Waste Water Technician to support daily wastewater operations. The role requires operating equipment, recording data and assisting in lab tasks, with potential to obtain Iowa Grade 1 license within 18 months.

candidate will perform data entry, sludge press operation, and housekeeping; forklift use and holiday coverage are part of the job. This is a non-exempt, on-site position with full benefits.

Qualifications

• Previous experience helpful, but not required.
• Mechanical skills.
• General Math Skills.
• Experience with Microsoft Excel and Word for data entry.
• Self-motivated and able to work unsupervised.
• Able to work outdoors year-round.
• Able to climb stairs.
• Good attendance record (for internal candidates).

POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT

POSITION: 2nd Waste Water Technician

DEPARTMENT: Waste Water

LOCATION: Ottumwa

SALARY CLASS: Non Exempt

HOURS: 12:00 PM – Midnight (Saturday-Monday)

Responsibilities:

• Working in wastewater area for daily operational adjustments, equipment operations and recording data. Must be able to obtain an Iowa Grade 1 wastewater operator license within 18 months.
• Monitoring operating equipment & report any equipment problems.
• Recording equipment data.
• Help with lab testing
• Data entry of environmental data
• Operate sludge press
• General Housekeeping of Waste Water Plant area as is needed.
• Must be able to operate forklift as needed.
• Cover co-worker vacations as needed
