Job summary

Tyson Foods, Inc. is seeking a wastewater technician to support multiple treatment systems and laboratory operations on the 2nd shift. Responsibilities include sampling, chemical analyses, and regulatory reporting, with emphasis on maintaining compliance and safety.

The role requires 1+ years of wastewater experience, good communication, and basic computer skills. Training programs for storm water and industrial waste certifications are provided with expected timely completion.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• 1+ years wastewater experience preferred.
• Basic computer skills with Word and Excel.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills are critical.
• Must complete storm water training within 30 days and must also complete “Industrial Waste Treatment, Volume I” and “Industrial Waste Treatment, Volume II” within twelve months, and obtain the lowest grade certification within twelve months or per state regulations.
• Must have a valid driver’s license; may need higher levels of certification up to Level A at this facility.
• Physical lifting of heavy objects (50-75 pounds), climbing stairs or ladders, working in unsanitary conditions with hazardous chemicals.
• Travel 1 to 2 trips per year.

Responsibilities

• Operate wastewater analysis laboratory.
• Operate and maintain wastewater collection, pretreatment, and full treatment systems.
• Collect samples for analysis per EPA, state, and health department regulations.
• Perform chemical analyses and interpret results to maintain regulatory compliance.
• Complete computerized reports and monthly permit-related documentation.
• Maintain operation logs and basic maintenance on equipment; assist with grounds keeping and general housekeeping.
