Reworld is hiring a Waste Process Technician I in Hodgkins, IL, for 2nd shift (2pm–10:30pm). You will off-load inbound trucks, perform QA/QC on waste streams, sample materials, and operate forklifts and other equipment in a compliance-focused environment.

The role requires basic mechanical understanding, attention to detail, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Training and benefits support ongoing growth, including GED options and safety-first procedures.

Qualifications

Apply today!About the roleThis is a 2nd shift position the hours for the role are 2pm - 10:30pm.The Waste Process Technician I (WPT I) is an entry level position responsible to safely perform the following fundamental tasks which may include the following based on individual Business Unit: off-loading inbound trucks, waste stream QA/QC, verify container count, manifest number and other relevant data needed for waste processing. Container sampling, recognizing non-conforming material, and processing of material through shredding operations, direct loading into solidification pit, LDI, etc. The WPT I is expected to have a general mechanical understanding of waste processing equipment. Specifically, via forklift, forklift attachments, hose, and valve operation.Responsibilities:Understand basic facility permit requirements and conduct daily activities to support all safety and compliance requirements.Operate a variety of equipment including but not limited to pressure washers, power tools, hand trucks, forklifts, and other power tools in accordance with company policies and procedures as well as OSHA requirements.Safely operate mobile equipment (e.g., yard dog) within the facility boundaries.Able to off load inbound packages, liquid trucks, and containers.Process inbound material using facility and mobile equipment.Waste stream QA/QC & Lab analysis associated with receiving and shipping waste and material.Complete and submit all facility associated paperwork (facility receiving, piece count, material verification, manifest review, etc.) associated with regulatory and safety record keeping paperwork.General cleaning of facility and grounds.Requirements:High School Diploma or equivalent, preferredReworld offers GED Works – a fully funded program for employees to achieve their GED.1+ year of experienceAble to pass respirator fit testAbility to utilize NetSuiteMust exercise good judgement and problem-solving skillsDemonstrate attention to detail and time managementMust be able to operate cranes, forklifts, hand trucks, and other power toolsMust be able to lift and move up to 50 poundsKneeling, crawling, stooping, bending, or twisting for extended periods of timeWalking and/or standing and/or sitting for extended periods of timeProficient in Microsoft Office, specifically Outlook, Word, and ExcelExcellent written and verbal communication skillsConsistently perform safely in various weather conditions and work environments.All Reworld positions require a candidate's ability to perform the duties and responsibilities of the role while upholding Reworld's Values, including (but not limited to) contributing to a safe and inclusive workplace, delivering results through trust, and building breakthrough capabilities.Please note that Level, Title and/or Salary may be adjusted based on the applicant's experience or skills.Pay TransparencyReworld is committed to paying its staff equitably, and we strive to provide competitive compensation and benefits packages.
