Job summary

Caterpillar Inc. is seeking a Warehouse Associate for the 2nd shift in Lafayette/Lebanon, IN. You will operate sit-down forklifts and order pickers, manage material handling, and drive continuous improvement with cross‑functional teams.

Responsibilities include coordinating shipments, leading problem‑solving sessions, and ensuring safety and quality metrics are met. The role offers starting pay and benefits from day one plus growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Safety: conducts daily maintenance and keeps safety logs, promotes a safe work area.
• Warehouse management: directs, leads and performs basic warehousing activities like receiving, put away, picking, packing and shipping.
• Customer service management: keeps the customer as the focal point of team activity.
• Coaching others: applies coaching to help others improve skills and performance.
• Effective communications: clear verbal and non‑verbal communication; lead process improvements.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment including sit-down forklifts, reach trucks, order pickers and overhead hoists.
• Perform material handling and warehousing functions (unloading, sorting, put away, picking, packing, shipping).
• Lead meetings with multifunctional teams to track performance and drive results.
• Interface with customer and coordinate voice of customer to logistics team to improve processes and investigate defects.
• Coordinate with logistics and external carriers to setup expedited shipments and oversee zone management.
• Lead problem‑solving events to drive continuous improvement and manage training matrix.
• Track quality metrics and meet safety, quality, velocity and cost goals.
