Job summary

Caterpillar is seeking a Shipping Stores Controller in Lafayette, IN for the 2nd shift to manage material sourcing, packaging and shipping. You will handle interplant movements, maintain inventory accuracy, and input orders while ensuring timely communication of shortages to avoid production delays.

The role requires standing forklift work, careful handling outdoors in varying weather, and collaboration with procurement and assembly teams.

Qualifications

• Must have at least 2 years of stand-up forklift experience.
• Good written and oral communication skills.
• Self-motivated and safety-conscious with ability to work independently.
• Basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Order parts for interplant operations.
• Move material to the shipping dock using a stand-up or sit-down forklift.
• Maintain inventory accuracy on production parts.
• Input parts orders and move interplant material in the computer system.
• Communicate potential material shortages to procurement and assembly to avoid production impact.
