Job summary

O'Neal Steel is seeking a 2nd shift Loader at the Shelbyville, IN facility. The role involves loading/unloading material using forklifts, overhead cranes, and other equipment to move items within the warehouse; strong adherence to safety and DOT weight regulations is required.

Candidate must handle 70%+ loading duties, read tape measures, and demonstrate proficiency with hand tools. Overtime may be required; background check and drug test apply.

Qualifications

• Ability to operate a wide variety of material handling equipment including forklift, overhead crane, stacker crane, side loader, yard dog.
• Must show critical thinking skills to allow for planned work and problem solving.
• Ability to safely load multi-stop loads for customer delivery.
• Must understand DOT weight regulations for legal and over dimensional loads.

Responsibilities

• Operates a wide variety of material handling equipment to load/unload material.
• Loads and unloads to ensure accurate order fulfillment.
• Maintains a safe and organized work area following safety procedures.
• Verifies material, quantity, packaging, and special instructions for each order.
