Job summary

O'Neal Steel in Shelbyville, IN is hiring a Material Handler for the 1st shift (6 am - 2 pm, Monday-Friday). You will load and unload material and move it within the warehouse using forklifts, cranes, conveyors, and hand trucks to support production and shipping.

Candidates should read tape measures accurately and operate a variety of material handling equipment safely. Overtime is required as needed, and a criminal background check and drug test will be required upon offer.

Qualifications

• Ability to operate a wide variety of material handling equipment including forklift, overhead crane, stacker crane, side loader, and yard dog.
• Ability to use hand tools including grinder, bander, drill, hammer, pliers, screwdriver, wrench, etc.
• Ability to accurately read a tape measure.
• Deliver high quality work to internal and external customers as related to the output of the position.
• Overtime will be required as needed.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload material within a warehouse.

• Follow pre-established guidelines; limited independent judgment.
