Job summary

JBS in Ottumwa is hiring a 2nd Shift Warehouse Attendant to support inventory control and warehouse operations. You will perform cycle counts, unload trailers with powered equipment, verify shipments, and maintain orderly, safe work areas.

The role requires English communication, reliability, and the ability to work 50+ hours. Familiarity with SAP and Excel is beneficial. Training provided for equipment operation; base benefits offered.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience with inventory management or warehouse operations is preferred.
• Able to operate a powered industrial truck and perform basic computer tasks.

Responsibilities

• Manage inventory and perform cycle counts monthly.
• Unload trailers and handle parts with equipment as needed.
• Verify shipments against packing slips and maintain clean work areas.
• Issue and store parts; process receipts and returns as required.
• Adhere to safety and attendance policies.

POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT

POSITION: 2nd Shift Warehouse Attendant

DEPARTMENT: Warehouse

LOCATION: Ottumwa

SALARY CLASS: Salary Non Exempt

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• The Warehouse Attendant position will be responsible for inventory management.
• .Do cycle counts every month / spot checks of inventory
• Be able to operate a powered industrial truck and small walking jack as needed to unload trailers.
• Verify shipments against packaging slips.
• Keep work areas clean.
• Issue out parts and put away in coming parts
• Other duties as needed.
• Issue / Reverse goods Receipts

Working Conditions:

• Production and maintenance settings
• Exposure to various chemicals and machinery.
• Slippery floors, cold temperatures, Warm temps

Relationships:

Internal: Employees on the production line and plant management

Special Skills:

• Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbally in English
• Bilingual skills helpful
• Excellent conflict resolution skills
• Computer knowledge required
• Good organizational skills
• Ability to work 50+ hours
• Good attendance and safety records
• Plus have working knowledge of Excel and Word.
• Maintenance back round would be helpful for identifying parts

• Good Attendance Record (Less than 3 points for internal candidates)

Education:

• High School degree or equivalent required, or equivalent combination of education and experience
