Job summary

Atlanta Gear Works, LLC in Dawsonville, GA is seeking an entry-level Warehouse Associate to support gearboxes repair and assembly. Training is provided; you’ll work four 10-hour shifts, Monday through Thursday, 4:00 PM to 2:30 AM, in a safety-conscious, fast-paced setting.

You will learn to handle mechanical tasks, operate basic measuring tools, and contribute to a clean, organized, and safe work environment while communicating clearly with team members and customers.

We are a contract precision maintenance jobshop that services and repairs both large and small process critical gearboxes for a variety of industries. Since 1988 Atlanta Gear Works has been a leader in gearing, gearbox repair, field machining and inspections all over the US. We are looking for great people who want to learn a new skill. We offer hands on training to grow your career as a machinist or assembly mechanic. Plenty of room for growth.The schedule will consist of four 10-hour shifts, Monday through Thursday - 4pm to 2:30am.

• Strong mechanical aptitude and can use all tools in a safe manner. If you have the basic skill to work on mechanical equipment, we can teach you our trade
• Ability to follow verbal instructions and interpret quality requirements

• Ability to change direction and handle multiple responsibilities and tasks
• Maintain a clean, organized and safe work area daily

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• High School Diploma or GED is required. Technical School training is a plus
• This is an entry level position
• Experience with correctly using high precision measuring instruments (such as veneer, micrometers OD & ID, depth gauge, etc.) in measurements of a thousandth is a huge plus

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Ability to lift small, medium and large objects, up to 50 lbs. regularly. Stamina to work 40+ hours each week.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

The Warehouse Associate will be exposed to mostly low noise, however, sometimes moderate to high noise levels within the production environment. Occasionally on-site at a customer facility. Possibility for extreme heat, wet, dry, humid conditions. We are a certified drug free workplace.
