Job summary

Join Caterpillar Inc. in Decatur, IL as an Industrial Electrician on 2nd/3rd shift. You will build, install, and repair electrical and electronic circuits on machine tools and plant equipment while diagnosing malfunctions and calibrating testing instruments.

This hands-on role requires strong knowledge of electronics, PLC logic, and the ability to read blueprints and schematics. You will contribute to safety, quality, and teamwork in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Completion of a field-related degree or equivalent experience.
• Strong knowledge of electronics, electronic controls, and PLC logic.
• Ability to read blueprints and schematics.
• Proven troubleshooting of complex electrical/electronic systems.
• Excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Build, install, and repair electrical/electronic circuits on tool and plant equipment.
• Diagnose malfunctions on NC-controlled tools.
• Troubleshoot electronic units and systems on equipment.
• Calibrate and service testing instruments.
• Read schematics to troubleshoot motors and controllers.
• Perform preventive maintenance on manufacturing systems.
• Maintain a clean, organized 5S work area.
