Job summary

NIFCO America, located in Shelbyville, Kentucky, is seeking a 2nd shift Tooling Technician to repair and maintain injection molds for automotive plastic components. The role requires basic mold tooling knowledge, mechanical aptitude, and ability to read prints; overtime may be required.

Eligible candidates will perform preventive maintenance, mold cleaning, and preparation for shipment to outside vendors, with a climate-controlled facility and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Must possess a High School Diploma or GED.
• Knowledge in mold making or early education in a technical machining program.
• Proven mechanical aptitude with a general understanding of dimensional mathematics.
• Must be proficient at reading and interpreting prints.
• One year experience in using mills, lathes, welding, grinding and basic hand tools preferred.

Responsibilities

• Repair and maintain injection molds for automotive plastic components.
• Basic repair or replacement of broken or damaged components of injection molds with hand tools, power tools and shop equipment.
• Preventative maintenance (PM) on existing molds (Overhaul).
• General mold cleaning using resources in the tool shop.
• Tool inspection with measurements using calipers, micrometers, indicators, and comparators.
