Job summary

R&M Manufacturing in Buffalo, MN is seeking a Spot Welder for 2nd shift. You will set up and operate resistance spot welding equipment to join stamped parts according to customer specs, read prints, and adjust parameters for quality welds.

The role requires inspecting welds, measuring parts, and maintaining tools, with a 4-day work week on 3:30 PM–2:00 AM. Competitive hourly pay with a $2.50 shift premium for the 2nd shift.

Qualifications

• Experience using calipers, squares, gauges and protractors to verify dimensions.
• Ability to read prints, blueprints and weld specs to locate welds.
• Strong math skills and problem solving for fit-up and tolerances.
• Physical ability to perform repetitive welding and lifting tasks.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate resistance spot welding equipment to join stamped parts.
• Read work orders and blueprints to determine weld locations and quantities.
• Load parts into fixtures and verify fit-up before welding.
• Set machine weld current, time and electrode pressure per setup.
• Inspect welds visually and with basic tests to ensure strength and placement.
• Measure finished parts to confirm print dimensions.
• Dress and maintain electrode tips and caps for quality consistency.
• Identify and correct common weld defects and escalate to supervisor.
• Document counts, scrap and downtime in ERP or paperwork.
• Follow safety procedures and keep work area clean.
