Job summary

Garpiel Group is seeking a Shop Assistant for the 3pm–12am shift to support the lead mechanic in vehicle and machinery maintenance and operations. You will assist with routine tasks including servicing, cleaning, fueling, and parts handling in a shop setting.

The role emphasizes teamwork, safety, and reliability, with preferred knowledge of lawn and landscaping equipment and a valid driver’s license. Ability to work outdoors and indoors is required.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of lawn and landscaping equipment is preferred.

POSITION TITLE: Shop Assistant (3pm - 12am)

JOB TYPE: Full-time, year round opportunities

SUMMARY OF POSITION: The Mechanic Assistant role is designed to support the lead mechanic in the maintenance, repair, and smooth operation of vehicles and machinery.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Sharpen mower blades
• Pick up parts and supplies
• Light routine repair/maintenance such as oil changes and tire repair/replacement
• Clean and wash equipment and vehicles inside and out
• Fueling mowers and trucks
• Safety / Security awareness and support with building and grounds maintenance
• Shop clean up
• Perform other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Knowledge of lawn and landscaping equipment preferred
• Valid driver’s license
• Ability to work in both indoor and outdoor environment
• Delivers quality work and services
• Lift heavy objects for prolonged periods of time
• Work collaboratively in a team environment
• Maintain good attendance and report to work on time everyday
