Job summary

Northrop Grumman’s Mission Systems is seeking a 2nd Shift Shipping Manager to oversee Troy Hill operations in Elkridge, MD. You will lead a team of packing, planning, and logistics staff, ensuring timely processing of domestic and international shipments. The role requires strong leadership and shipping domain expertise.

The position offers collaboration with multiple functions, continuous improvement projects, and a competitive benefits package. Must be eligible for a U.S.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years in shipping or logistics, or 9 years’ experience in lieu of degree.
• Experience managing and leading teams.
• Experience routing and cost planning for domestic and international shipments.
• Proficiency with DTMS and MS Office.
• Ability to obtain a U.S. Government Secret Security Clearance; U.S. Citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Supervise a team of packers, planners, and logistic coordinators.
• Support interplant movements of material.
• Ensure safety and security policies are followed by staff.
• Implement training and knowledge sharing amongst team members.
• Plan work with the Shipping & Logistics Manager and discuss priorities.
• Oversee packaging material storage and inventory.
• Implement continuous improvement projects.
• Build relationships with Program, Contracts, Mission Assurance, Production Control, and Operations teams.
• Monitor budgets, workload capacity, and forecasts.
• Assist with shipping questions and facilitate problem resolution.
• Review and maintain accuracy of employee timekeeping.
• Ensure materials, tools, and equipment are available for processing and shipping.
• Communicate with stakeholders concerning issues impacting shipping processes.
