Job summary

Great Southern Wood Preserving, Inc. is seeking a shipping and receiving clerk for the 2nd shift at the Hagerstown, MD location. This full-time position offers competitive pay and a full benefits package.

The employee will verify and keep records on incoming and outgoing shipments, prepare items for shipment, and assist with staging shipments. High school diploma or GED and at least six months related experience are preferred; lumber experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Verifies and keeps records on incoming and outgoing shipments and prepares items for shipment.
• Examines incoming shipments, rejects damaged items, records shortages, and corresponds with shipper to rectify damages and shortages.
• Responsible for placing identifying information on material upon arrival at the plant site.
• Routes items to inventory.
• Examines outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet specifications. Maintains inventory of shipping materials and supplies.
• Maintains flow of traffic through yard and assists in staging shipments for outbound loads.
• Assists in stacking lumber or moving product by hand as needed.
