Job summary

Guhring is a world-class manufacturer of round shank cutting tools for the metalworking industry, also providing coating, reconditioning, and tool management services. The Brookfield facility seeks a full-time Packer to prepare customer orders for shipment under the direction of the Shipping Supervisor.

Responsibilities include pulling, packing, verifying and shipping orders, using SAP EWM and a handheld scanner, labeling specials, managing inventory placement, weighing with UPS, and maintaining

Qualifications

• Must read and understand written instructions on customer orders.
• Must have math skills to verify quantities.
• Must have basic computer skills to enter shipping data, generate labels, locate stock, and log inventory.
• Must type accurately to enter shipping information and verify accuracy.
• Continuous standing and walking in a warehouse.
• Frequent lifting of up to 50 pounds and bending to reach items.
• Good hand-eye coordination to package and label products.
• Safely handle orders without damage or injury.
• Possibly use ladders or moveable stairs to reach high locations.
• Ability to understand varied instructions and directives.
• Ability to count and verify large quantity orders.

Responsibilities

• Pull, pack, verify and ship customer orders for Standard Tool catalog items.
• Operate SAP EWM with a handheld scanner to verify orders and maintain inventory.
• Package and label 'Specials' orders; verify quantity and shipping information; move to packing line.
• Verify counts and place incoming inventory items in proper storage locations.
• Operate UPS shipping computer and scale to weigh and label packages.
• Place outgoing packages into shipping containers for carrier pickup.
• Daily cleaning of the work area to maintain safety and orderliness.
